ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The law serves as both the foundation of society and a vital tool for transformation. Education, particularly legal education, shapes citizens into responsible, active, and productive members of society. The top law school was formed to pioneer legal education reforms and to underpin the change of the Indian legal system via research and policy initiatives.

  • RESEARCH CENTER  
Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Property Research (CEIPR) A. Vision To be an interdisciplinary research centre of eminence to foster the advancement of intellectual property law and policy. We have pledged to develop an analytical and normative research ecosystem to propose strategic measures in contemporary IP research and beyond. B. Mission The CEIPR brings together bright young minds to improve collaborations to address inter alia social, economic, and cultural dilemmas, creating a more vibrant environment:
  • The center will create awareness, collaborate and engage with leading global research centers with similar interdisciplinary trajectories to organise workshops, training programs, seminars and conferences.
  • The center will undertake and pursue legal and policy research with universities and industries with which UEM has MOU and collaboration to foster publication opportunities.
  • The center will assist to generate livelihood opportunities to vulnerable communities, the incubation centers and other relevant university departments with updated research inputs in law and policy.
  • The center will provide the opportunity to faculty members, scholars and students and encourage participation in ongoing/undertaken research projects and consultancies.
  • To develop literature reflecting the recent development in sustainable study and research.
Date of Establishment: May 25, 2023 (have started operating as a separate Center from January 31, 2024) Center of Excellence in Sustainable Development Research (CESDR) 1. We have pledged to develop an analytical and normative research ecosystem to propose strategic measures in achieving UNSDGs and beyond. B. Mission The CSDR brings together bright young minds to improve collaborations to address inter alia social, economic, and cultural dilemmas, creating a more vibrant environment:
